First, Congratulations again to you on acquiring the photo of a family member from a ...stranger.

Here, i would like to say that your receiving the photo as the result of an AfriGeneas posting is a beautiful example of what AfriGeneas is all about. Since my participation on AfriGeneas from the mid 1990's I have been on the receiving end of many gifts from persons previously unknown to me .... who are no longer strangers. For my AfriGeneas Angels, far too numerous to name, you know who you are.

It is very unfortunate that you, I and others have family members who can't, or won't see the value of sharing in the quest of seeking out materials in all shapes and forms (documents, photos, stories, etc.) that help to preserve the genealogy and history of our common family connections.

So as you say "repost surnames again" and we should all continue to share our findings, techniques, experiences on AfriGeneas and other genealogical venues with others. We are so much richer for such actions.

Here is a photo of some AfriGeneans at the 2009 IBGS in Ft. Wayne, IN who at one time were strangers to each other in the world of genealogy prior to becoming a part of the AfriGeneas community.
