When looking for family leaves and twigs, you have to consider the entire tree. It may not go in the direction that you want, but it does not make it less of a tree. Even a brick that builds up into a brickwall has two sides to it. You are not going to always know the entire story, so we have to try to find a way to not close the book before we find it. Research is not always going to be pretty, so we must be slow to judge. People don't give us all of the info because of the reaction of the receiver, therefore it is taken away from this earth on purpose.
