Disappointment in MD Archives

I had recently visited Annapolis, MD and wen to the State Archives to find information on John Anthony Carr. He is my great grandfather. I had previously found him on the 1900 census (Maryland, Dorchester County in a Division of that county called "Fork") living with Josephine and Josephine Camper. It stated he was the nephew of the head of household which was Joseph. But when I checked the 1910 census for that same area, it states that John was a "boarder" living with Joseph and Josephine Camper. Then, in the 1920 census, we have John Carr living with his wife Daisy in Gloucester County, New Jersey. This is where he is listed with my grandfather, Joseph (Josarr) Carr.

When I went to the archives, I was trying to find out who John Anthony Carr's parents were and even with all this information, they could find nothing. I have that John Anthony Carr was born on August 11, 1888. At least, that is what he put on his draft card! Also on the draft card, he put his place of birth as "near Vienna Meraland" (Maryland).

Can someone please see if they can assist me with finding out ANYTHING about John's parents. I am not sure why he was living with the Camper's but he stayed with them most of his life.
