Re: PINKNEYS ~ Bakersfield & SanJose
In Response To: PINKNEYS ~ Bakersfield & SanJose ()
Pin(c)kney and Ric(t)hardson. 2 names on my SC tree. My Pinkneys started in Johnston SC. Harriet Vance bn 1852 SC and Henry Pinkney bn 1843 North Carolina. Harriet had 9 children. If you have access to Ancestry.com, the family tree is there. The information is under Adams/Vance/White will give the information I have up to now. William Pinkney son of Harriet and Henry, married Earlena Coggins had 5 children. After William died Earlena and Robert and Ethel moved to Fulton, Ga. This found on the 1940 census. By 1967 I found Earlena, dau's Lucille Pinkney Richardson and Ethel Pinkney Walker living in Merriweather, Ga. Earlena died that year. Obit said Robert Pinkney lived in Atlanta Ga. and siblings of Earlena (sisters)Earlena Coggins Pinkney were residents of Detroit Mich. From this point I have been looking for descendents. Robert was married to Cynthia ? and in 1940 they are listed as having a daughter 4 yrs old named Gloria. Your family may be a part of the this family tree. My Pinkneys are descended from Adelaide Vance bn 1820 in Shaw/Edgefield SC. You mentioned some of your ancestors were from the south. This may be a lost branch we both are seeking. There was also a Elbert Pinkney married to Mary. I found no information that they may have had children. Elbert was a railroad employee. By the way the surname is spelled different ways on different documents. Email me direct and we can share further.
