Family History

My grandfather's maternal grandmother was born in Choctaw Corner's , Alabama in @1855 and moved through Mississippi to Louisiana. My grandfather was born in Houma, Louisiana, played in the Negro Baseball Leagues as a member of the 1915 New Orleans Tigers, worked his way through college and medical school graduating at the top of his class in 1919. He, subsequently practiced medicine in New Orleans for greater than 15 years. I, unlike my grandchildren knew and lived with him for a short time over 60 yrs ago. He was dark skinned with black wavy hair and sharp chiseled features. I have been an amateur geneologist since my college days. While stationed at Camp Shelby, Mississippi I traveled back to Choctaw Corner's, AL and to Houma, LA as well as to the Choctaw Museum. I continue to research my family history both socially and scientifically. I now know that several branches of Native Americans are part of my ancestry. I know of the Carib on my father's side; Choctaw and possibly Seminole on my mother,s. My collegiate
studies of physical anthropology have made me curious of my families physiognomy...high cheek bones, sharp features, and hair characteristics as well as certain genetic charactistics.
