I just wanted to chime in that my mother was persuaded to move to Minnesota by "Uncle Bill," and pursue her MSW, when she could not get a job out of college at Akron U. She moved in about 1946 when he was a star for the MN Golden Gopher's. She and my father, Stanley Berry, had 5 kids and we used to visit Akron in the summer's growing up.

My mother is Pauline (Sanders) Berry. Her mother Clara (Bell) Sanders was one of Uncle Bill and Uncle Hoarse's sisters. She is mentioend, as Bea, in Uncle Bill's book, "Black Without Malice," as an excellent runner!

I purchased 20 copies of the book from a lady at the A&T book store about 6 years ago. I have given out about 15 to various family members. I am going to try to see if I can contact her to get more. Uncle Bill set up a foundation for proceeds of the book. I will give a copy to Judy. There is more manuscript for the book (dealing with family life), but I didn't follow up to get it. I am going to try again, as most of the book has to do with football.
