Am still looking for info on ggrandparents. Have found info in NYC census. He is listed as a waiter (where?), she as a laundress. Of their 11 children my grandfather, served as a Redcap and eventurally as Chief (Jim Williams) of redcaps for Grand Central Station in New York In the 1930's my grandparetns lived on "strivers row" at 226 W138th St. My grandfather also lived in the "Dunbar" apartment complex. Two of his sisters ran a Quaker settlement house in Harlem that provided day care and training for paretns in the community. His oldest son served as a New York City fireman for many years eventually gaining the rank of Chief (Wesley Williams). Any info in these area would also help.
