Re: William H Foye Sr of NC and VA
In Response To: Re: William H Foye Sr of NC and VA ()
Thanks Thomas, I basically tried that and used the AA Filter on Ancestry.com, then repeated the process and selected every form and variation of Wil*, Wms H Foy* or Wil* Foy*, Rosa*, Rosabell Foy* and their children for clues on usgenweb, familysearch lab and org. Since Heritage Quest, LDS and Ancestry.com now share the same transcriptions, it was sort of redundant but worth the effort. I spent this past Tuesday at the local LDS Family history center to no avail. I even thought of lying to Virginia State Vital Statistics for his death cert., since we share the same surname. The best I could come up with was the SSDI listing. I can track *my* William H Foy from Goldsboro to Kinston, upto 10 Dec 1952. As stated in my original post, he was the informant for his mother and they shared the same address at 805 Macon street in Kinston NC. Short of traveling to the area, I've contacted my Foy Lenoir NC researchers and I will probably be going to the Library of Virginia to peruse some post 1952 Kinston NC and Portsmouth VA directories and phone books.
This is like those Russian dolls! Open one doll and a smaller version of the original appears but I just can't get to that last and final doll.
