What I have found is that in the 1870's and before it appears that the ages are so far off it make you wonder if this is your person at all.I checked with some historians that say sometime the people did not know their age and they sometimes would guest. Sometimes names are wrong but I just keep researching to eliminate or add this person to the tree.
I am not writing a book, but I am putting together a book that include cesus, family pictures and stories that the family has had since I've been in it. The town that you are talking about is Sauratown, it is in Stokes Co, what I read is that is it named that because of the Saura indians that lived there at the time. The book is for my children and their children. The UNC in Chapel Hill has been very helpful to me. And I lived in NC for 31/2 years and still missed some info that I would like to go back to find.
