Re: MARTIN Baker & Leah Stokes Cnty, NC
In Response To: Re: MARTIN Baker & Leah Stokes Cnty, NC ()
Gordon, In Winston Salem in June 1915 my husband's aunt(his father's sister) Bessie L Martin married Burl/Burrell Martin the son of Edith and Burrell Martin of Stokes Co. On her marriage certificate the Witness are Jennie and Gladis Bittings, at the time I did not know the relationship but since I found out that Sarah/Senkt/Sena Martin was JT Martin's daughter,Mary was also a witness and she was JT's wife. I think the JL you see is really JT. He was a minister of the Primitive Baptist Church in Winston Salem at that time. It seem like I confused you with the way I posted the last statement.I think Alfred father is Bud Bittings listed as Aud Bitting.I have found most of the seem to be related Martin's but when I started looking for when JT died it seem like I am not able to find it. Although I have his wife death certificate and he was the informant.
