The Martin's is my husband's family and I first found them in 1870, named Cinda Martin with her parents living with her, Richard and Henny Martin.They lived in Stokes county, The Meadows, Sauratown, and Danbury, this family like many others moved to Winston salem (Forsyth Co). They have a Martin family cemetery in winstom salem of which I have visited.Luscinda/ Cinda/ Sindie and Lucinda had 13 children, I have traced them up to 1930. It appears that the Martin women kept their maiden name because on their headstone they are( for example)Mary Martin Smith. I have also copied their death certificate to connect them, they are on ancestry. I agree that most of the people are related in some way, they appeared to stay together. I have lots of pictures the family took and kept a lot of pictures, however these people are dead. I knew my father-in law and he talked a lot about his family in NC, my husband is now 72 years old and I am about to make a book on this Martin family.
