Re: John T. MARTIN NC
In Response To: John T. MARTIN NC ()
In 1870 Baker and Leah was living in Beavers Island Stokes Co. You said that Baker and Leah were your gr gr grand parents, then you said Burell and Edith were your gr gr grand. I am not disputing who your family was, however Baker had a son named John who was a primitve baptist minister. My husbans aunt was Bessie Martin, she married a Burell Martin in Winston Salem in 1915 and Burrell died in a coal mine in charleston Va. I have a newspaper article to support that.Rosella was John's daughter and yes she married William pointdexter. I would like to keep in contact with you and I would like to know if you have any pictures. I stayed in NC for 3 years tracing this family. My husband gr gr grandmother was Lucinda Martin in 1870 she lived in beavers Island. I went to the Martin family cemtery in Winston and took some pictures, do you have any pictures of some of the headstones. Well I getting ready for work and will see if you have posted some more information. Also I have 2 books on Stokes Co marriages from 1839-1900. If you are in NC maybe you can do some look-up for me.
