Re: CG O'Kelly and Family
In Response To: CG O'Kelly and Family ()

: I need help locating information on my grandmother and her father
: and mother. Unfortunately I have no info other than whats posted
: in my profile which is: I would like to know if anyone can help
: me on a particular search regarding my grandmother and my great
: grandfather...This is what I know: From 1904 to 1910 Cadd Grant
: O'Kelly aka C.G. O'Kelly was the second Chief Administrator of
: what was then "Slater Industrial Academy and State Normal
: School" later called Winston-Salem State University. There
: is a library at WSSU called the C.G. O'Kelly Library. He had a
: daughter named Corinne nee O'Kelly (my grandmother). In 1922
: Corinne O'Kelly Graves, gave birth to my mother Corinne Virginia
: Graves. In 1926 she gave birth to my aunt Anne Vivian Graves.
: From what I understand she died shortly after that. The two
: daughters were then sent to Danville, VA to live with their
: paternal grandmother. This is the only information I have, and
: this info was given to me by my mother, Corinne, jr. who passed
: away in 1977.

: Where do I start? I contacted Winston-Salem State University and
: corresponded with an archivist at the CG O'Kelly Library but he
: simply referred me to his book which had 2 sentences about CG
: O'Kelly...can anyone help me?
