These are my findings so far on the person known as Keziah or Kaziah. In the 1870 census of Rowan County, N.C., Providence Township, a woman of 46 or 47 is the head of the household. Her name is Kaziah House. She has four sons in this record: Josiah, about 17, Monroe about 15, Martin about 12; and Jackson about 10. Jackson is also my grandfather John whose name is Jackson John House. Anyway to make a long story short, it is also the marriage certificates that I see her name. For instance: Josiah House, son of Kaziah and Joseph House, married to Elizabeth Shad in 1873; Martin House, son of Kaziah and Joel House, married to Mary Heilig on 1888; and John House, son of Kaziah and Joseph House, married to Martha Ellen Crowel on 1886. You see where I am going? It is Kaziah who gets to me now.
When I saw some folks in the Pasquonak area it seemed to fit, and that is only a coincidence. Thanks. Joseph
