I am seeking information about the status and location of Dr.William "Big Bill" Bell, the former football coach (and possibly athletic director) at North Carolina A&T University. He lived in North Carolina in the 1950's- 1980's. He worked at Iowa State University briefly, but became homesick for North Carolina.

He was born about 1910 in Georgia, the 5th of 9 children of Thomas Henry Bell (1868-1926) and Maggie B. Adrine (1879-1927). His family moved to Akron, Summit, Ohio around 1915. He graduated from Ohio State University in the early 1930's, where he had been a star athlete. He served as the football coach at Florida A&M University between 1939 and 1943. He served in WWII.

I believe he had a son who was a chaplain in the military-possibly named William Bell, Jr.
