Joseph and Family FOUND!!!!!
In Response To: Joseph Wrinkle-escaped slave ()

I found them searching the 1881 Ontario Census at familysearch.org
I coudn't find anything with the spelling WRINKLE...so I just searched for Joseph...race: African, b. USA....here is the results:

WINKLE, Joseph, M, race: African, 48, birthplace: Western States, USA,

occupation: Laborour, religion: C.Methodist

, Mary , F, Scottish, 38, ONT., Presbyterian

, Sydney, M, African, 21, ONT, C.Methodist

, Mary J., F, "", 19, "", ""

, James H, M, "", 17,"", ""

, Maggie, F, "", 12, "", ""

, Arthur, M, "", 07, "", ""

, Mandy L., F, "", 05, "", ""

, Ida M., "", 02, "", ""

, Charity, "", b. May 10mos., "", ""

Theres a note regarding the surname...and says could be "WRINKLE"
You will probably have luck searching the 1871 ONT. Census...there's only 10 children here, but might find the 2 elder missing children on the 1871 ONT census..or Mary had more children after 1871...I doubt it though ...she'd been near or over 40!

Good luck to you :)
Vera
