I am yet another Chastang descendant from La Marque, Texas. My great grandmother was Gertrude Chastang McNeil. Her mother was Victoria Brown (Owens) Chastang who married Vincent Chastang. Gertrude's siblings were Australia, "Cristo", Jerome, Palestine, and the youngest girl Ophelia.

Some interesting facts are that the sons mentioned from this lineage were very successful moonshine smugglers throughout Alabama, La., and Ark. The youngest daughter, Ophelia, moved to California in the 1930s and later died from a heroine overdose.
