Re: Robertson & Baxter Families of MD

Hi Dawn - Thank you for your email. Well I am at a real loss to explain where my ancestors were. I am so glad you were able to sort out a lot of the maybe's for me. I am so indebited to you for all of your help.

The only other solution I came up with after looking at all of your research was the following possibilities: -

- Francis Robinson aged 16 in the 1850 Census 2 at Washington MD. I would say that James is his brother aged 14. It would mean that Francis was exactly the right age to be aged 22 when he came to Australia. He was here in 1856 so would probably not be in any 1855 census. Definately not in any 1860. So thank you so much for narrowing it down.

- Could his father have been a Levin? His accent here in Australia had his father as Irving /Irvine and his mother was Helena Baxter, Instead of Elenor.

I really do not know....

I did find the following which may be of assistance,

It may not be anything but I copied it down.
Levi Robinson b 1768 was head of Dorchester Co MD Household of 8 other free in MD in 1800. He and his wife Nelly.
Issue : - Richard b abt 1794 obtained a cert of freedom in 1815 of a chestnut colour and it is noted LEvi Robinson onced belonged to Henry Hooperl Had a son Levi born about 1800. I can not remember where I got this information. It may not even be relevant but I always record and document anything about Robertsons in MD. I often wonder how he is not recorded especially when his parents names are so well known to us....

Once again if you come across anything that you may feel is relevant please email me. Thank you so very very much Dawn for all your help.
Daniel.
