Hi Dawn - Thank you for your email. Well I am at a real loss to explain where my ancestors were. I am so glad you were able to sort out a lot of the maybe's for me. I am so indebited to you for all of your help.
The only other solution I came up with after looking at all of your research was the following possibilities: -
- Francis Robinson aged 16 in the 1850 Census 2 at Washington MD. I would say that James is his brother aged 14. It would mean that Francis was exactly the right age to be aged 22 when he came to Australia. He was here in 1856 so would probably not be in any 1855 census. Definately not in any 1860. So thank you so much for narrowing it down.
- Could his father have been a Levin? His accent here in Australia had his father as Irving /Irvine and his mother was Helena Baxter, Instead of Elenor.
I really do not know....
I did find the following which may be of assistance,
It may not be anything but I copied it down.
Once again if you come across anything that you may feel is relevant please email me. Thank you so very very much Dawn for all your help.
