Re: [Entertainment] In My old NEIGHBORHOOD
In Response To: Re: [Entertainment] In My old NEIGHBORHOOD ()
I'm from Missouri. In my immediate neighborhood there were black Mom and Pop stores. The people who couldn't afford a building did their business out of trucks, cars, wheel barrows. That's where memory comes from. Now Joseph is from DC. How about a roll call from other states. I'd like to compare and see if black families in other states had similar memories. I just had another memory pop in. 'CHURCH BBQ'. When the sister's decided to put the pit out on the sidewalk, you know it was going to be some good sauce poured over whatever meat was grilling. To this day in our city I look for those BBQ Pits in front of the churches. I think the secret ingredient is "the blessing of each plate sold. Even now there's a man driving around setting up a 'temporary BBQ stand" on select corners. Guess what the name of it is. "Me Hungry" ========= This is a repost============
