Sorry, Barbara. I said stealth attack in jest. If I have sensitized you to the extent that you are no longer able to laugh at me, then I would rather give our conversation a rest than offend. If I may, however, I would like to address this last response to a post I just made while it is still fresh in my mind.
You said "I don't know that non-whites would be less qualified even at this point, as there are many well educated non-white people.." If I ever gave the impression that I think there are no well educated non-white people, then I am not stating my premises well. IMHO, despite the fact that there are large numbers of educated and capable black people, we are still considered a 'minority' in terms of being qualified for certain jobs under the thinking of the 'majority'.
What we need to do is work to increase the numbers of qualified black people until we are enough of a majority that we can no longer be ignored or considered 'different' from the black race as a whole [there I go again using that term race ]. We will NOT accomplish this as long as our younger generations think it is okay to walk around with their pants hanging down around their knees, sitting on stoops drinking forties all day long, using foul language, etc.
I notice that in one of your replies to another member of this board, you were not sure if I am misled or misleading. Rest assured, I am not running for political office or interviewing for a job here, so there is no reason for me to mislead.
For some reason, it is required that if I declare my political affiliation as Democratic, I am then expected to toe the party line without question, thereby engaging in that very behavior the white man has used to his advantage: the inability to think on my own.
