Re: Why Say 'NO' To Sotomayor
In Response To: Re: Why Say 'NO' To Sotomayor ()
Oh, Richard, Richard, Richard. See, you are going to get me into trouble again on this board.
You said: "How can you ignore the racists history of the US Supreme Court? " Now, that is saying that I AM ignoring the racist history of the Supreme Court. [I don't know if the Supreme Court was racist since it was not the job of the court to make social policy, but to interpret that policy in light of the constitution. The best I can do in terms of arguing in support of your position that the court was racist is to agree that the members of the court were EMPATHIZING with people of their own kind and did not apply the rule of law in their interpretations. What bothers me is that you rail against the past, but don't seem to have learned much from it. You are perfectly willing to support empathy if it is anti-white. That is sad. ]
Your penchant to want me to think inside some type of defined box is inhibiting. Let go, relax, and listen to what I say and watch what I do. That is the only way you will get to know me. Please don't ascribe labels to me. The only political label I bear is 'Democrat'. You may see me as 'conservative', 'right-wing', 'left wing', right-of-center', etc. I am none of those. I am capable of independent thought and always appreciate the opportunity to exercise that God-given talent.
