I know I have done this many times before. I am still searching for Vance of African American heritage; focusing mainly on Abbeville, South Carolina, and in the 1880 census the name of Frank Vance Sr. and his wife Sophie. Frank Vance Sr. died in 1918 in Abbeville County in or around the age of 80 plus. His daughter Mary Vance was my grandmother.
