Re: Witherspoon /Mobley
In Response To: Re: Witherspoon Cemetery (Black) ()
Hi Shelia, It's bizzare Sumter Mobley have popped up. Last night I was researching Sumter and listed his census information from the 1870 and 1880 on note card. After revewing and printing Vera's post, I noticed that Priscilla, Shep, and Harriet was listed in the census twice at the same age. They must have been at their grandfather(Sumpter Mobley)house when the census taker enumerated their family and was listed again at their parent house. So, one of Sumpter's children must be the wife of Will Witherspoon,
I would appreciate if anyone can give the age of John Mobley in the 1880 census, I can not tell if he was 8 or 18. If he's 8 years old I really think this is my gggrandfather. Thanking you in advance
