Per the 1930 census, Ernest & Ella Lindsey (ages 35 & 33) were living on Oakley St. in Duval Co., FL with their children, E.J. (15), Ruby (13), Rhoda (11), Alice (8), Ernestine (6), Eloise (4), Lawrence (2 months), and Ernest's sister, Mary (26). Eloise and Lawrence were the only ones who were born in Florida. The rest in So. Carolina.

Per the 1920 census, Ernest & Ella Lindsey were living in Lexington County, South Carolina. His parents, James & Harriet Lindsey, were living next door. Their oldest child, E.J., was reported as 5 years old. So, you can guesstimate that Ernest & Ella Lindsey probably married around 1915. Maybe you can locate a marriage record for them in Lexington County. That will provide Ella's maiden name.

Also, do you know when any of Ernest & Ella's children died? If so, try to obtain their death certificate. Death certificates give the father's name, mother's maiden name, etc., if the informant knew that information.

Those are the first two sources. However, talk to your elderly relatives. Someone may know about Ella's family.
