Re: Reinventing Malcolm with Marable
In Response To: Re: Reinventing Malcolm with Marable ()
This article misses the point. The fact of the matter is that Marable's book, was not well researched. In addition, in many places, he relies on second and third hand accounts, circumstantial evidence, and makes a lot of assertions without supporting them with facts.
I read the book starting with the bibliography and endnotes. This book is of a far less caliber than his other books. In addition, he has not presented anything new that has not been discussed in other books such as The Death and Life of Malcolm X, Malcolm X: The Man Who Changed Black America, The Judas Factor, Conspiracies: Unraveling the Assisnation of Malcolm X, The Autobiobiography of Malcolm X, The Seventh Child: A Family Memior of Malcolm X.
There is no excuse for poor research, especially from scholar of Dr. Marable caliber.
