You misunderstood me. The point I was making is that there were American Indian tribes that enslaved blacks in the United States. Although the Spanish always made a point to enslave indigenous (Indians) people before importing individuals into the New World as slaves. The only reason they began bringing in Africans, was because their attempts to enslave Indians were largely ineffective.
