Right, I understand what you are saying about the law and I've seen numerous examples of the law not being followed, but I was also saying that socially, in the 1800s antebellum period in NC, I've seen a lot of situations were a newly freed slave moved to and lived in an established community of free born african americans. To me, that is a sign that they were accepted. Others moved out of the state, but the ones that elected to stay moved into free born communities and that was my point.

As far as moving your posts back, I do not have that ability, sorry. I am not the one who moved it here, but I believe it was moved here because your initial post has created a lot of discussion.
