Harold BLEDSOE! That's it! Thank you, Arlene! My mother worked for him as a legal scretary when she came to the States from Jamaica from 1946 until she married in 1948. I tried to remember his name when I read a post about Norris Herndon, head of the Atlanta Life Insurance, on the AfriGeneas Facebook page. Herndon was an associate of Bledsoe's and tried to hire my mother away from him when he visited Detroit during those years. Mom didn't go to Atlanta and good thing for me because she met my father at the Bledsoe firm when he came in for legal services. Thanks, again. Will do more reading about Bledsoe now. My mother was very fond of him and, in fact, wanted me to become a lawyer (I didn't) because of his influence on her. Messages In This Thread
