Locating Blood Relatives Beyond 1870

Hello:

I have researched one of my ancestors to the 1870 census. I think I have also located his family's slaveholders.

In learning more about their slaveholders, I have stumbled upon two other males with the same surname listed together with my ancestor on the Alabama 1866 colored population census.

How can I determine if they are related to my ancestor?

I have tried to look at where my ancestor's mother and father were born, but it varies report to report. There are a few similarities.

Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

The surnames in reference are Jefferson Britt, Aberdeen (Dean) Britt, and Benjamin Britt in Barbour County, AL.
