Nancy Sheppard ~ Midwife
In Response To: Give MidWives a shout! ()
Greetings I am recognizing and honoring Nancy Sheppard, born around 1848. She was not only a midwife but was also skilled at using natural remedies found in nature's bounty. In 1919 she delivered my mother in Webbers Falls, Muskogee, Oklahoma. She gave medical attention (some would call roots) to my mother and my grandmother for two weeks ("way back in the woods") until both were healthy and thriving. Were it not for Nancy Sheppard, I feel certain I would not be here, as my newly born mother was exhibiting the same symptoms that killed her oldest brother as a newborn two years earlier.
Take care! Robert
