Reposting for Mother's Day
It's time to start revamping and posting your search for family. Everybody is looking for the perfect gift, making phone calls, Missing Moms who have passed on and feeling a little blue. Well since many of you have learned a lot more how to do this research stuff, redo your old post and add more stuff. Go to the 1930 census. Look up family names you know, family friends, churches, schools, stores, street names nearby, history of the area your folks live in and on Afrigeneas interwine that information into the bio of your family name. Tell what is there that might be familiar. Then go to the 1940 census and post the names from the 1940 Census only. Do not add names of anyone past 1940. You will be taking information strictly from a public document at this time. Don't make it so boring but talk about the schools, churches, Mr so and so lives at this address and granma lived at this address. Remember the living of today may not know some of the people you r talking about but heard about some of the places. Folks get to talking around HOLIDAYS. Take advantage of oppurtunities. AND Take and print pictures. Don't just save them on your cell phones. What's the point. I have also noticed people say they WILL NOT put research info in the Public Eye where people might find it. WHY NOT? How do you expect anyone to find it? This is genealogy research. And there r genealogy Societies who will be hosting workshops in the coming months. If you will be attending one, think about buying a small section in their page and putting information about your family surname bio and how you can be found. That is advertisement.
