For the descendants of Lewis & Susan Adams from Urbana, Ohio. Today, 15 March 2013, marks the 200th anniversary for the freedom of your ancestor, Lewis Adams.

Lewis Adams was freed/manumitted on 15 March 1813. Lewis' original freedom papers were filed on this date at the Shelby Co., KY courthouse in Shelbyville, KY. They may be seen in Deed Book "L", page 134.

Also of note, the Ohio Genealogical Society's quarterly publication "Ohio Genealogy News" has on the cover of their 2013 Spring Issue a photo of the 1920 Adams Family Reunion held in Urbana, Ohio on Labor Day weekend of 1920.

The photo was taken at the home of Isaac Lewis Adams, a grandson of Lewis Adams. Isaac is seen in the photo seated 4th from the left.

Lewis Adams is the 3rd great grandfather and Isaac Lewis Adams is the great-grandfather of Art Thomas.
