I am sorry I don't use any software or family tree devices. I use the narrative form for genealogy. I found this form was easiest to use for my family, because they could visualize each generation separately and they've told me that it makes more sense to them than a family tree. I use the Biblical "begot" system and hoped that it would emphasize for younger generations that our family believed in marriage.

Each generation begins using the same format i.e.: "Molly married Sam Waters" and then the children of each union is placed immediately below the couples name. The narratives revolve around the concept of "marriage" and I include copies of marriage licenses, and any mentions of marriages. I constantly add, delete, amend, change the narratives based on new research easily by simply using the Word or Word Perfect system. I've attached a copy of a narrative that reflects my mother's paternal great grandparents (my gggrandparents). I hope this proves helpful to you.
