Re: 150 years later, one day remove

() We went to see it on New Year's Eve. Arrived at about 8:30 and were very fortunate, as the lines were short and on-street parking was readily available. The document is two sheets front and back and the front of the third sheet. Because of the fragility of the paper and ink, the originals are only very rarely displayed: we saw the originals of sides two and five, with side five containing the signatures of Abraham Lincoln and William Seward. Lincoln's signature was plain and straightforward, neither large nor florid. It was also quite pleasing to see the number of young people and even children in line to see it. The whole experience was gratifying and moving, one we will not forget. Messages In This Thread
