On this New Year's eve, and the eve of the 150th Anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation, I am honoring my ancestors with a tribute to some of those who were enslaved and who lived to see freedom.

Each hour on the hour from 6 pm to midnight Eastern time, I shall upload another blog post in their honor and telling a small piece of their story.
