I am brought to tears in hearing this news.
He was a remarkable person whom I wish I could have gotten to know better.
He was first person I met that was a descendant of slaves freed by Robert Carter III.
He encouraged me to continue seeking out other descendants and complete my web project

I reached out to him for his opinion but got no response which then led me to this post and a few articles about his life.
