Research in Alabama kind of fell off of my radar after I found out that my DAWKINS ancestors wound up in Louisiana several years before emancipation. So, I've concentrated my efforts in that state, along with Arkansas. However, a couple of years ago I had a breakthrough in researching my FORD relatives. Guess where THEY came from? Yes, Alabama! Soooo, back to Alabama research. Love it, though. The ADAH folks have been most courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. Looking forward (again) to possibly visiting for research in the next couple of years, if the Lord say the same, as my late Grandma Lucy Nation used to say. Her mother was a FORD.
