Thanks for the info. I have been researching in a small area of Virginia called Ridgeway. I have been trying to locate a specific part called the Knob. I have asked elders who know of it but don't know where it is. I have googled and binged with no success. I called the reference librarian for the local library who referred me to the historical society which does exist but has no web presence. I called and they knew exactly where the Knob was.
