My mother in law had to get a new birth certificate b/c hers was lost in a courhouse fire. She had to get affidavits from her siblings stating that her birthday was xyz.

I'm sure if you wanted to get hers corrected a copy of the census show she was 5 months old in 1910 would be sufficient proof.
