Hello Joseph, Vera, and Robert, Since I live in Salisbury is there anything I can do to help you in your search. Have you looked at the birth records for Rowan County on Ancestry.com. Robert, I do know the Henderson in town most of them are related. I lived about five miles from these (Hendersons and Stoners)families. If you look in the 1930 census for Rowan counties you will find them in the northern end or the Town of East Spencer. Also, I suggest looking at our local newspaper, "The Salisbury Post" (www.salisburypost.com) for family members articles and obituaries. I can not recall the gentleman name whom recorded the oldest African American cemetery in Salisbury. Recently, he published a book with all the Black families and some history. You can call Rowan County Public Library--Genealogy Room for more details about the book, and maybe you might catch him doing research at the library. Happy Hunting,
