Re: African Americans of Salisbury NC
In Response To: African Americans of Salisbury NC ()
Hello Joseph, I just learned about 2 months ago that I had family that moved from Jasper County, Ga to Salisbury, NC in the early to mid 1930's. Apparently my great-great grandmother Ella (Burney)Moore's brother's Jefferson and James Lee Burney made this move and have raised their families there ever since. A son and daughter of Jefferson, now in their 80's currently live in the Winston-Salem area. I learned this through a cousin who found me on these boards. We exchanged a few emails and spoke on the phone for 45 minutes, but after I sent him all my research/files he's chosen to ignore me. Really saddened my heart to finally find my "first" paternal cousins and get this in return, but life will go on. Anyways his grandmother was Jefferson's daughter Estelle married a PRICE and they had a daughter who married a FORD.
