That a colleague of mine's forbearers owned the "Belmont" plantation in Brunswick, County, Va. where my forebearers worked.
That a branch of my "Shaw" family migrated from northeastern N.C. to Reynoldsburg, Oh. in the 1940's, later settling in Columbus.
Finding census records for my maternal grandmother's grandmother and their "Arnold" family in Fayette Co, Ga.
Connecting via the Internet with an Avant cousin who, like me, grew up primarily in the D.C. area.
Seeing a few ancestors in history books on Portsmouth, Va. and Littleon, N.C.
