Ordering through vitalcheck can be very expensive. For example, I just looked up how much they would charge for my grandmother's death certificate who died in 1946. To receive the document, processing fee and shipping fee, it would be $44.95. I ordered a copy through the vital statistics in SC and it cost me only $20.00. That's $24.95 I could spend on another death/birth certificate.
So, I advise you to shop around. There are cheaper sources. There may be a difference in cost between certified verses non-certified. Vitalcheck is quick, but will cost you more. Sometimes you can also obtain copies from the Health Dept in the county.
