In Response To: Re: W.W. I DRAFT REGISTRATION ()

I have yet to find my paternal grandfather in 1900, tho he married in 1895, and again in 1901 in the same county. I find his son in 1900 with an aunt, his wife having died. I have no idea where he might have been, but obviously he was living away from home and not in the same county either! He's back home in 1910, married still another time (1907) since his 2nd wife also died. {Wife #3, my grandmother, also died when my dad was less than 2. On to wife #4}. These marriages are the only records I've found of him between 1880 and 1910.

As to draft, I found my dad's distant cousin registered for WWII in Pennslyvania (I think I remember that right) and he lived in the same county we did, in Arkansas. He was apparently working there when the draft caught up with him. I originally didn't find him because I "assumed" his place of residence. But when I omitted the place of residence in my search, there he was, with his "nativity" in the county I knew.
