I just read this message thread. Very, very fascinating and how exciting for Rodney to find his African ancestry information.

I am just starting research on behalf of my sister and brother who are Comeaux's. It is great to know that LA kept good records. Even though their Aunt Rose Comeaux who died a few years ago was born in LA about 1926, I cannot find her in the 1930 census. Their dad, LJ "Jesse" Comeaux, born 1931, would not be in that census. Thanks to Rodney's detailed info about he went about his research, I am truly inspired again that the info we seek will be found. Who knows? Might even find an African ancestor for them, too! Absolutely great, Rodney!
