There were Hickmans in Greenbrier County, West Virginia:
Amy (in 1979), Daniel R. (1910 Census - he was born in Richmond, Va.), David, Harriet Wash Hickman, Maggie Johnson Allen Hickman (Wife of John Allen & Daniel R. Hickman - born in 1871 at Frankford), Mark Hickman (in 1979), Richard Hickman. I also have the note that a woman in WV indicated to me in an interview that her father's middle name was Hickmanhood & that "Hickmanhood" was a Native American family name. He later shortened his middle name to Hickman. I asked the Native American researcher at WV State Archives about this name and he hadn't heard it before.
