My personal website concentrates on the documents pertaining to the slave period from the area my people were enslaved.
I have meet via the webpage all types of cousins: cousins related by blood or marriage, folks related to my cousins but not to me, folks not related but from the same plantation or the neighboring plantation, and folks who are the descendants of the owner of the plantation.
We have shared research, photos and oral history. I am currently researching with a descendant of the plantation owner who shared a story of my ancestor rescuing his ancestor from the battlefield at Peachtree Creek, GA. He has shared that my ancestor is buried in the same cemetery with his ancestors and the headstones are still intact. I hope to visit the cemetery in January.
