slave at John Tinney's residence

A number of years ago My husband, my son and I visited Grantville, Ga. and Primrose, Ga. area. We were able to talk to Alonzo Tinney who was son of John Tinney. He said his grandfather was a slave at John Tinney (white) residence.

Alonzo was so nice to us that day. A storm was coming up so we could not viisit the spot where our John Tinney lived. He said the home was not there now. He also said several graves were out back of thye house area with no toombstones.

I descend from Isaac Tinney (See 1850 census for both) and wife Elizabeth. they lived on Land Lot 114 nearby. I do not know if Isaac had any slaves or not. I believe he died abt. 1858. I have not found his or John's graves.

I would love to hear from you. Please do write.
Mary Elizabeth (
Tinney) Hill
