This is the story of the slave ship "Fredensborg" and has valuable information on the slave trade. My research involves the years AFTER 1803 when slave export was no longer allowed in the Danish-Norwegian kingdoms. As Chris mentioned Norway was a part of Denmark until 1814. But it was the years after 1814 the Norwegian ship owners made their unbelieavable big fortunes and our merchant fleet soon became among the largest in the world. When I started looking into that I was mostly met by the phrase: Let sleeping dogs lie."
