My most interesting discovery was my first discovery; one that had been 'in the closet' for many years. Growing up, I was always told that I was a 'Heinz 57', which I am...English, Scottish, Irish, Welsh, French...but 3 yrs ago I found out that I am also part African American. My paternal Great Great Grandfather was an escaped slave from the United States who made his way to Canada, via the URR, in the late 1840's. This facinated me & began my genealogical quest. I've learned so much about this brave, wonderful man & am very proud to be his Great Great Granddaughter.
